Easy chicken recipe for lunch

The weekend indulgence at home is meant to ba flavouful affair. And if you are a non-vegetarian lover, then this desi Kadhai Chicken recipe will surely tempt your taste buds. Scroll down to read the simplest recipe at home.

Ingredients


1½ tbsp coriander seeds, 4–5 dried red chillies, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 4–5 black peppercorns, 750 g chicken, 3 tbsp mustard oil, 2 medium onions, 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste, 3 medium tomatoes, 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, salt to taste, 1 tsp crushed kasuri methi, water, and some fresh coriander leaves

Step 1


Fist of all, wash the chicken pieces and set them aside.

Dry roast coriander seeds, dried red chillies, cumin seeds, and peppercorns on low heat until aromatic.

Let them cool down and grind to a coarse powder.

Heat oil in a heavy kadhai and add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Also, add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.

Now, add tomatoes, turmeric, Kashmiri chilli powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates.

Add the washed chicken pieces and sauté on medium-high heat for 5–6 minutes.

Now, add the spice powder, mix well and add 2 cups of water, cover, and cook for 15–20 minutes.

Garnish with kasuri methi and coriander leaves. Enjoy with roti or rice.
