Puddings make for a healthy breakfast option that is often loaded with nutrient-rich fruits and uses ingredients like milk, curd, and other ingredients. Dr. Joseph Salhab, an expert in digestion, liver, pancreas, and nutrition, recently shared the reel video of Blueberry Chia Pudding on his official Instagram handle and talked about its recipe and the lesser-known benefits as well. Ingredients required


½ cup fresh blueberries, ½ cup plain Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon chia seeds, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon honey, 1 teaspoon cacao nibs or crushed

Method

Mash the ½ cup blueberries with a spoon.Add Greek yogurt, chia seeds, vanilla, and honey.Stir until fully combined.Top with a few whole blueberries and sprinkle with cacao nibs.Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight).
Enjoy it fresh next morning.

According to Dr. Joseph's post, blueberries, cacao nibs, and chia seeds provide antioxidants and plant-based omega-3s that support memory, focus, and healthy brain signaling. These same nutrients help reduce liver inflammation and support fat metabolism. And on the other hand, Greek yogurt and chia seeds promote a healthy gut with probiotics and fermentable fiber that support digestion and microbiome balance.

According to multiple studies, blueberries intake is linked to heart health, as it lowers blood pressure, reduces LDL cholesterol, and improves blood vessel function. They are also said to improve insulin sensitivity and regulate glucose metabolism.

On the other hand, chia seeds are said to lower blood pressure, reduce LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. And the high fiber content helps slow carbohydrate digestion, improving insulin sensitivity and stabilizing blood glucose levels in diabetic or prediabetic individuals.

According to USDA, per 100 gms of Greek yogurt offers around 8-12 g protein, which aids muscle building, tissue repair, immune function, and delays hunger as well. It also increases bone formation, and improves bone mineral density.

They are rich in fiber, iron, magnesium, copper, manganese, potassium, phosphorus, zinc, and selenium. They also contain healthy fats like oleic acid and stearic acid, which keep cholesterol under control. And as per experts, the presence of flavanols and polyphenols in dark chocolate works to neutralize harmful free radicals.
