Effortless soups for the changing season to prevent colds and flu

A changing season often brings with it a wave of changes and challenges for health and well-being! This is majorly because of the seasonal ailments, infections and weakened immunity that call for more nutrition to sustain the weather changes. However, during the change of season fever, cold, flu and sore throat are some of the common issues, and to combat these, most people reach out for medicines to deal with these common health issues. Well, here are some soup recipes that can naturally heal and revive health with their rich nutrients and health-enriching properties.

Mushroom Soup

Loaded with the goodness of vitamin D, mushrooms are great for boosting immunity, and the addition of black pepper and ginger helps in healing fever and sore throat. To prepare this soup, wash and cut mushrooms and chicken with bones. Pressure cook these two ingredients with 1 inch of ginger. Once done, remove the chicken and blend the soup. Add in the chicken to the soup along with freshly grated peppercorns and salt and enjoy.

3/5

Chicken Soup

The nutrients in chicken soup can heal fever and sore throat. To make this soup, wash and clean the bones, take a pressure cooker and toss in some ginger and garlic paste, and add in chicken and ½ cup barley along with whole spices. Cook for 3 whistles and turn off the flame, take out the chicken pieces, and blend the remaining ingredients. Add in the chicken and season with salt and pepper to enjoy.

Ginger Soup

To make this classic ginger soup, take a pan and add in 1 tbsp ghee along with 2 inches of freshly grated ginger and 4-5 garlic cloves, sauté it well and pour in 2 cups of tomato puree. Cook the soup and season with salt and pepper as per taste.
