Foods to avoid with medicines

To be healthy, it is necessary to have a good lifestyle. However, many types of diseases can occur due to seasonal diseases, infections, eating habits and poor lifestyles. When sick, people go to the doctor and take medicines on his advice. But, if you think that you can get healthy just by taking medicine, then you are wrong. While taking the medicines, one has to be extra careful about the diet, as there are several foods which when consumed with medicines can cause several side effects. Energy drinks

Whenever you are taking medicines, make sure to avoid energy drinks with it. Taking medicine along with energy drinks can have adverse effects on the body. It also takes more time for the drug to dissolve.

Liquor

Consuming alcohol or any kind of intoxicant should be completely avoided with medicines. This not only has a bad effect on the health, but the consumption of both together can also cause a lot of damage to the liver. Taking the medicine with alcohol increases the risk of several liver disorders.

Dairy products

There are a few people who consume medicines with milk. Although milk is beneficial for health, it can also reduce the effect of some antibiotics. Milk is know n to be rich in several minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and proteins which, when combined with medicines, reduces their effect. This is why, many experts believe that milk should not be consumed with medicines.

Mulethi or liquorice

Mulethi is considered to be one of the most beneficial herbs in Ayurveda. It not only strengthens the digestive system but provides relief from many stomach-related problems. But the compound ‘glycyrrhizin’ found liquorice can reduce the effect of many medicines.

Leafy vegetables

Consumption of green leafy vegetables is advised to nourish the sick person. However, taking some medicines along with leafy vegetables interferes with the effect of the medicine. Kale, broccoli or vegetables rich in vitamin K can interfere with the effects of the drugs, thus they must be avoided with leafy vegetables.
