Amla and turmeric are both Ayurveda-approved food ingredients that are known for their medicinal properties. While they can be added to the daily diet differently, the best way to get maximum benefits from these two superfoods is by consuming them raw on an empty stomach. Boosts immunity

Amla is loaded with vitamin C, while turmeric has powerful anti-inflammatory properties. Together, they strengthen your immune system to fight off seasonal infections, coughs, and colds. According to a study, curcumin compound found in turmeric promotes a balanced immune response by stimulating Th1 cells and increasing interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) production, which are critical for antiviral and antibacterial defense, while decreasing Treg cells that suppress immune activation. And according to clinical trials, amla supplementation reduces oxidative stress and improves biomarkers related to immune health, such as endothelial function and inflammatory markers, without adverse effects.

Improves digestion


If you are having sluggish digestive health, start drinking amla and turmeric juice. Amla helps balance stomach acid, and turmeric stimulates bile production, aiding smoother digestion and reducing bloating. According to Ayurveda texts, amla is said to improve the Pachak Agni (digestive fire), which is essential for efficient digestion and metabolism, especially during humid weather conditions. According to the World Journal of Gastroenterology, curcumin found in turmeric has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that help reduce inflammation in the gut, which is beneficial for digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel disease.

Detoxifies liver

It is said that the combo acts as a natural detox drink. It helps flush out toxins from the liver and blood—especially helpful when the body is more vulnerable to infections. According to a 40-day study, liver-protective effects of amla are largely attributed to its high antioxidant content, including vitamin C, tannins, flavonoids, and polyphenols. The study mentions that these compounds help neutralize harmful free radicals and reduce oxidative stress, which is a major contributor to liver damage. And it is said that curcumin in turmeric exerts strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions that protect the liver from damage caused by oxidative stress, and toxins.

Protect skin


If you have oily and acne-prone skin, humidity can clogs pores, traps sweat, and triggers breakouts. Consuming amla juice will help boost collagen production and fight free radicals that cause inflammation and acne. It also detoxifies the blood, helping reduce skin eruptions caused by internal imbalances. And turmeric on the other hand, helps kill acne-causing bacteria and prevents new pimples from forming in clogged pores.

How to make Amla and Turmeric Juice

To make this refreshing and nourishing juice, take 1 deseed amla and 1/2 tsp turmeric powder or 1-inch raw turmeric. Add them to a blender, along with a few drops of water. Blend into a puree and strain the juice. Mix well, and then top it with a pinch of black pepper, 1/4 tsp honey, and a few drops of lemon juice. It is suggested to consume the juice in the morning on an empty stomach. For added benefits, you can garnish with a few fresh mint leaves, serve chilled, or combine with a small piece of ginger to enhance digestion and immunity further.
