Smart food hacks to control bloating and constipation

Constipation and bloating are two common problems, which are related to what we eat, how we eat, and when we eat every day. Hence, it is important to pay attention to eating the right kind of foods. Dr. Shilpa Arora, a registered dietician and nutritionist, recently shared a reel on Instagram and discussed three simple food hacks that can help reduce constipation, bloating, mood swings, and dull skin. Scroll down to read the details.

Gajar

Dr Arora recommends eating one carrot daily. In the video, she says that chewing carrots helps with natural glow and the rich fiber content aids with gut cleansing, which reduces constipation and bloating. According to a study, carrots are a rich source of dietary fiber, particularly soluble fiber, which is known to aid digestion by softening stools and promoting regular bowel movements.

Kacha Papita

According to Dr Arora, raw papaya or kacha papita contains papain, a digestive enzyme that helps remove all toxins from the body. It is said that papain helps break down proteins and dietary fiber, which further improves bowel movement.
They are low in calories and high in dietary fiber, which help promote a feeling of fullness, and can help reduce overall calorie intake. Also, the enzymes in raw papaya may assist in the breakdown of fats, supporting weight loss efforts. They are rich in antioxidants like vitamins A and C, that help combat free radicals, reducing signs of aging and promoting a healthy complexion.

Ghee Paratha

She suggests consuming ghee paratha. In the video, she says forget aloo paratha and consume kacha papita paratha and top it with desi ghee for better gut health. According to a study, ghee is said to boost immune function, digestion, and bacterial interactions in the digestive tract. It is also said that the fatty acids in ghee, including conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and medium-chain triglycerides, contribute to gut health by enhancing digestion, strengthening the intestinal wall, and supporting a healthy gut immune system.
