As the year 2025 is coming to an end, Google has just dropped its Year in Search 2025: a snapshot of the recipes. These are the dishes that were most searched and were trending throughout the year in India.

This is one of the most popular steamed South Indian dishes made with rava or rice flour, and urad dal. It is a soft, fluffy, mildly tangy dish mostly enjoyed with coconut chutney, and sambar.

This is a a modern, fruity cocktail, that became popular in the early 2000s and despite its provocative name, it's a sweet tropical and tangy drink that uses vodka, passion fruit juice or puree, lime juice, simple syrup, and is served with a shot of sparkling wine or Prosecco on the side.

Modak / Ukadiche Modak


Modak is a traditional Indian sweet dumpling and is native to Maharashtra, Goa, and South India, and is made from rice flour or wheat flour dough with a sweet coconut-jaggery filling. Ukadiche Modak literally means “steamed modak,” and is the most popular form, considered Lord Ganesha’s favorite offering during Ganesh Chaturthi.
