The holy month of Ramadan is here. Ramadan, or Ramzan, is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar where absistence from food and water is done during sunlight hours. It is said that it was in the month of Ramadan that the Holy Quran was first revealed. Meals served before sunrise (called suhoor), and after sunset (called iftar) are often enjoyed with family or friends. Iftar is the revered time of the day when mouth-watering delicacies are relished. Raan, haleem, biryanis, to phirni, shahi tukda and sheer qurma are prepared for Iftaar but kebabs are the most sought after delicacies. Kebabs of all varieties are prepared throughout the month. Here are some interesting variations of kebabs that are a must try during the festival.
