Serving fire and grace

Draped in a striking customised red saree by Archana Jaju, Samantha Ruth Prabhu once again proved why she remains one of India’s most fashionable stars. Always making timeless elegance meet unapologetic glam, the actor turned the traditional silhouette into a full-fledged power statement and set the internet on fire. She wore this stunning piece for her movie promotions, screaming modern-day goddess energy.

Making a bold case for glam

The custom hand-painted piece is part of the Bapu Bomma series by the designer, which is an ode to the legendary artist Bapu. The drape reinterprets femininity, strength, and grace through fashion. This artwork, inspired by the idea of a Veerangana, took nearly 250 hours to complete and was crafted in handwoven soft silk, brought to life through hand-painted Kalamkari. It is about a woman who carried grace and strength while staying rooted in the fluid and expressive style associated with Bapu’s illustrations.

The expressive clay red tones

The whole palette was chosen with quite thoughtfulness and was developed using terracotta with accents of yellow ochre and green. This created an interesting visual language, which felt bold and nostalgic. Samantha wore a matching terracotta-based, shoulder-length-sleeved blouse with a striking yellow stripe, serving as a canvas for delicate illustrative detailing.

But then came the interesting motifs

This saree is ideal for those seeking understated elegance. The hand-painted motifs inspired by bows, sword, floral designs, bangles, and armbands are positioned to create a seamless flow across the drape, while also narrating a story. The the arrangement of these motifs were carefully considered, reverberating the spirit of a warrior woman while keeping the softness and elegance of the Bapu Bomma art.

She exuded style and owned the moment

The look was completed with a fine golden choker and matching broad golden necklace, paired with small golden earrings. Leaving her hair straight and wavy with a side part, she opted for a glowing base with winged eyeliner and defined eyes. With cheek gloss and nude gloss, she complemented a bold, classy and sophisticated style perfect for any event.
