Shweta Nanda’s love affair with 90s fashion

Shweta Nanda tied the knot with Nikhil Nanda in 1997 and made headlines for her pre-noughties fashion sense. Shweta Bachchan Nanda is Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter, whereas Nikhil Nanda is a distinguished businessman and a notable figure with connections in the business and entertainment industry. Shweta Nanda’s champagne Chikankari wedding lehenga

For her mehendi and sangeet, Shweta Nanda was seen wearing a champagne-hued Chikankari lehenga which had a minimal flare, and a decent high-neck blouse with minimal floral beading around the borders. She carried the look with grace and elegance and added a dark green silk Banarasi dupatta with detailed intricate embroidery.

Classic 90s hair and makeup

She kept her hair and makeup game as minimal as possible which went perfectly with her mehendi and sangeet’s function. Keeping minimal kohl eyes and big lashes, she had fine eyebrows and added a tint of fine pink glossy lips with a small black bindi and was all set for her pre-wedding activities.

Matched the ambience

For her pre-wedding festivities, Shweta chose this champagne-hued wedding lehenga which also matched with the ambience of the venue. The entrance of Jalsa looked breezy with all the trees made of white tuberoses with beautiful floor-to-ceiling curtains in intricate floral jaali adorning the space. The entire space looked like a royal entourage in the shades of beige and orange which was inspired by the Bengali tradition of flowers, known as the shola work.

The stunning red wedding lehenga

For her big day, Shweta opted for a classic red-maroon lehenga with a stunning heavy embroidered dupatta which she carried as a veil with an extended trail. Her dupatta had heavy thread and golden beaded embroidery with a broad designer border. Matching the border, she was seen wearing a red flared lehenga with heavily embroidered detailing in a floral bead design, whereas she added a half-sleeve designer blouse, and looked like a stunning Bengali bride.

The designers and the moment

With her red wedding lehenga, she wore a beautiful long ‘Rani Haar’ and stunning necklace with a matching heavy set of bangles and earrings with a simple maang tika and beaded headgear. Carrying a red gloss lip look, she kept pink eyeshadow and minimal strokes of liner and kohl. However, the moment was the designers of all her wedding attires i.e. Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla who designed her wedding trousseau with poise, grace, and elegance which is still the talk of the town.

Grand affair

Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda's wedding was a grand affair which brought together two of India's most illustrious families: the Bachchans, renowned for their legacy in Bollywood, and the Nandas, prominent figures in the business world. Shweta, the daughter of legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, and Nikhil, the son of industrialists Rajan and Ritu Nanda, celebrated their union in a lavish ceremony attended by family, friends, and numerous celebrities from the film industry. The wedding was a blend of traditional rituals and modern elegance, symbolizing the merging of their rich heritages. Despite Shweta's preference to stay away from the limelight of Bollywood, the wedding was a highly publicized event, showcasing the grandeur and opulence associated with such high-profile unions.
