Mrunal Thakur’s letter of devotion to Goddess Parvati

When devotion meets couture, magic happens and Mrunal Thakur proved it this Ganesh Chaturthi. The actress stepped out in a glorious multicoloured saree, one she described as her personal ode to Goddess Parvati, the symbol of Shakti, grace, and the divine feminine. This wasn’t just festive dressing; this was faith, elegance, and quiet power draped in six yards.

All about the saree

The Chitrangi Ziya Saree (₹39,500) by Torani was a visual hymn, its palette flowing like a sunset over a temple dome. It also featured a scalloped, green-embroidered border which brought just the right depth to the garment.

The styling

Mrunal balanced the vibrant saree with the Manjari Ziya Bralette (INR 24,500) in a deep, jewel-toned green, a bold choice that anchored the burst of colours. She accessorised the look with deep silver heels, gold jhumkas, a chunky cocktail ring, and a classic bangle. Enough to feel festive, but never stealing attention from the saree itself.

The makeup

For makeup, she went with a bronzed skin, softly defined eyes, thick lashes, and a nude lip that let the saree do all the talking. Her hair, styled in relaxed, loose waves provided just the right kind of festive glam that looks effortless, but is clearly thought through.

Faith woven into fashion

On Instagram, Mrunal called Ganesh Chaturthi “her festival,” a time when home, devotion, and joy come alive. This year, she wanted her outfit to feel both deeply traditional and deeply personal, a wearable tribute to Goddess Parvati, carrying “a little piece of strength, a little piece of love, and a whole lot of faith.” And if her smile was anything to go by, she wore every bit of that sentiment as gracefully as the saree itself.

Saree queen

Mrunal Thakur has mastered the art of turning every saree outing into a lesson in timeless elegance. Whether she’s draped in a handwoven Kanjeevaram, a pastel organza, or a rich embroidered silk, her styling strikes the perfect balance between traditional grace and contemporary flair. She often keeps her look understated - minimal jewellery, soft makeup, and impeccably draped pleats, allowing the saree itself to take centre stage. This consistency in refined choices has made her saree appearances feel not just fashionable, but deeply classy, resonating with those who value sophistication over fleeting trends.
