Brides are still copying Mouni Roy’s ethereal wedding era

Bollywood diva Mouni Roy got married in 2022, where she didn’t just serve a bridal look but created a full-blown fashion fantasy, which still lives rent-free on every bride’s vision board. From her dreamy red Bengali bridal look to the stunning white-and-gold South Indian wedding touch, she proved that understated elegance can still steal the entire spotlight if done with the right choices and grace. While recent rumours about her married life don't seem very pleasant (there are rumours of trouble in Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar's paradise after netizens reported that the duo has unfollowed each other on Instagram), years later, the actress' wedding closet continues to inspire brides who want their big day to feel less trendy and more personal.

The South Indian elegance

For her South Indian wedding ceremony, Mounu picked a traditional silk saree dipped in ivory notes with a broad red border and golden zari work. The metallic sheen added just the right amount of beauty, and she teamed it with a contrasting short-sleeved blouse with patte borders. She adorned herself with beautiful temple-style gold jewellery and wore a traditional necklace, jhumka-style earrings, a statement maang tikka, and a beautiful head accessory and completed the look with a stack of bangles.

Mouni's hairdo does need a special mention

She focused on the little details on her big day and opted for a traditional South Indian jadau with floral garlands, which looked heavenly with her ivory and red saree. But wait till you see her mehendi. Mouni decorated her hands with delicate floral motifs and made Shiva and Parvati on one hand, whereas a lady was waiting for the moon sighting on Karwa Chauth on the other palm.

Mouni Roy’s Bengali wedding was all things beautiful

The couple first solemnised their relationship following South Indian tradition, and later, in the evening, they tied the knot as per Bengali tradition. The actress opted for a pure red lehenga-choli set from Sabyasachi featuring intricate gold embroidery with floral motifs and a personalised organza dupatta with the phrase ‘Ayushvati Bhava’, which means ‘blessed and long-lived'. This little detailing was embroidered in gold zardozi on the hemline and indeed stole the show.

Mouni Roy went all out with her bridal jewellery

Keeping the red and gold palette alive, she wore traditional jewellery by Anmol Jewellers, which included a pair of chandbaali earrings, a choker, a stack of bangles, and a matha patti, with uncut diamonds and emerald beads. With soft kohl-rimmed eyes and rosy cheeks, she added a sleek bun and looked absolutely stunning, where her groom complemented her in an ivory sherwani.

But is there really trouble in paradise now?

Mouni Roy married Dubai-based businessman Suraj Nambiar on January 27, 2022, in Goa, after knowing each other for almost 4 years. While previously the two shared some affectionate moments, the couple is now facing intense separation rumours, as reported earlier, the duo has apparently unfollowed each other on Instagram. Mouni’s close friend and Bollywood actress Disha Patani has also unfollowed Suraj Nambiar on social media, intensifying the situation. But none of them have officially confirmed the split. Watch out this space for more on the duo!
