Happy Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 Wishes: How to greet 'Eid Mubarak' in various Indian languages

Eid-ul-Fitr, also known as Eid-al-Fitr or Meethi Eid, marks the end of Ramadan which is the holy month of fasting observed by Muslims worldwide. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar and during this month, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset-- refraining from eating and drinking, as well as engaging in acts of charity, worship, and self-reflection.

Eid-Ul-Fitr falls in the Shawwal month of the Islamic calendar, which has around 29 or 30 days. The beginning of any lunar Hijri month varies according to the new moon sighting by religious authorities. Consequently, Eid-Ul-Fitr falls on different days across regions. This year, Eid-Ul-Fitr will be celebrated from April 21 to April 23, 2023. The dates may change as per the moon sighting.

Eid-ul-Fitr is a joyous occasion that is celebrated with great enthusiasm by Muslims around the world. It is a time for Muslims to come together with family and friends, express gratitude to Allah (God) for the blessings received during Ramadan, and share in the festivities. The celebrations typically last for three days, although the exact duration may vary depending on local customs and traditions.
