7 inspirational books that will change your life for the better

We all want to be happy and successful in our lives. However, no matter how hard we try, it is very difficult to be always happy in an inherently despondent world. With so much disparity, unhealthy competition, poverty, and violence all around, it is natural for us to lose faith in humanity sometimes. At such times, books can act as the perfect guide for us. Thus, here's a look at seven inspirational books that can help you change your life.

'The Checklist Manifesto' by Atul Gawande

In this, Gawande finds a remedy to tackle immensely complex problems with the humblest of techniques. In riveting stories, Gawande takes us from Austria, where an emergency checklist saved a drowning victim who had spent half an hour underwater, to Michigan, where a cleanliness checklist in intensive care units virtually eliminated a type of deadly hospital infection.

'The Greatest Salesman In The World' by Og Mandino

The book serves as a guide to a philosophy of salesmanship, and success, telling the story of Hafid, a poor camel boy who achieves a life of abundance. If Mandino's suggested reading structure is followed, it would take about 10 months to read the book. The instructions are to read Scroll I (Chapter 8) three times a day for 30 days straight. Only after completing the 30 days of reading Scroll I, should you continue to Scroll II (Chapter 9) and so forth through Scroll X (Chapter 17).
