Skin benefits of greens

Green foods are good for our body inside and out, as they are loaded with folate, lutein, and vitamins A, B, C, and K. These nutrients help our body and skin fight off skin-ageing radicals and other issues on the cellular level, leading to firmer and plumper skin. More cell turnover means less dullness, giving you a natural glow. Applying green face masks can also control redness and irritation, whereas the antioxidants present fight off free radical damage that ages our skin. Try these easy-to-make DIY homemade green face masks for glowing skin.

Skin-clearing avocado face mask

A great pick for combination skin. This easy-to-make face mask requires ingredients like coconut oil, avocado, honey, lemon juice, tea tree oil, and apple cider vinegar. A blend of all these ingredients removes dullness and treats oiliness and acne as well. Adding a banana is just a cherry on the cake, as it is a great source of alpha hydroxy acid, which encourages cell turnover and reveals fresh, radiant skin in days.

Avocado cocoa face mask

If you’re struggling with dry skin issues, then the avocado mask is the right pick for you. One gets the incredible moisturising benefits of avocado with the skin-calming antioxidant power of cocoa powder. Simply take ½ ripe avocado and add 1 tablespoon of honey and cocoa powder. Blend it well and apply to a clean and dry face. Leave this on for 10 minutes and rinse it off with cold water.

Mint and cucumber face mask

Who doesn’t love the fresh and lively smell of mint? When applied to our skin, mint calms redness, treats acne, and moisturises our pores. To have a perfect time with your senses, you can also opt for peppermint essential oil with cucumber slices, honey, and rosewater. Create a thick consistency, and add 1 tablespoon of raw oats for exfoliation. Mash all the ingredients together and leave them on your face for 10 minutes.

Matcha and charcoal

This combination is a great natural exfoliator that moisturises your skin deeply. Brimming with antioxidants like vitamins A, B, C, and K, the activated charcoal and tea tree oil clear the pores and control oil. Also, include raw apple cider vinegar; that dials down the acidity of the charcoal and maintains the pH level of your skin. You will need 1 teaspoon of matcha green tea powder, activated charcoal, jojoba oil, apple cider vinegar, tea tree essential oil, and water.

Green tea face mask and toner

This face mask-cum-toner removes residue, calms skin, keeps pores clear, and invigorates your skin. Take some distilled water with 4 cucumber slices, 1 green tea bag, half a lemon, and ¼ tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, and blend them all in a spray bottle. Apply this portion and keep it on your face as a face mask until it gets absorbed. You can also use it as a toner and apply it using cotton pads, rubbing it across the face.
