Methi-curd hair pack

Long and healthy Rapunzel-like tresses are a dream. To achieve that, one might go for the most expensive products on the market shelves. However, nothing works better than some home remedies for shiny, thick hair. Methi (fenugreek) and curd in your kitchen are hidden weapons if you want thick, glossy hair without depending on chemical treatments. For years, Indians have relied on this homemade hair mask to give mirror-like shine to the hair, encourage long hair growth, and control hair fall. But when you use it in the right manner, the true magic happens. For optimal effects, follow these instructions for creating and using the methi-curd hair pack.

2/5

The magical properties of curd and methi

Rich in protein, iron, and nicotinic acid, methi (fenugreek seeds) are believed to fortify hair follicles, lessen dandruff, and stop thinning. Lactic acid and natural lipids found in curd (plain yogurt) deeply condition the scalp and hair, making it smooth, lustrous, and free of flaking.

Ingredients you need:

As a power pair, they combat dullness, dryness, and weak roots.
Methi seeds, two tablespoons

Half a cup of thick curd, preferably unsweetened or homemade

For extra nutrition, a spoonful of castor or coconut oil is optional.

How to get the hair pack ready

Soak methi seeds in a bowl of water for the entire night. Drain the water in the morning, or you can also drink this methi pani as a health booster drink.

The soaked seeds should be ground into a fine pulp.

Blend the curd and paste until lump-free and smooth. If using castor oil, add it to the mixture in this step.

To activate, let the mixture sit for 15 to 20 minutes.

4/5

How to apply it correctly

Step 1: Part your hair into small sections and carefully detangle it.

Step 2: Apply the paste from the scalp to the ends using your fingers or a brush. Once applied, give your scalp a light massage for five to seven minutes.

Step 3: After applying the hair pack, put a shower cap on and twist your hair into a loose bun. This allows nutrients to seep in and keeps the pack wet.

Step 4: Keep it on for half an hour to an hour. Don’t let it dry completely by wrapping your head in a cling film or a polythene bag. Dried methi can make hair rough while washing.

Step 5: Wash it off using a gentle herbal shampoo after rinsing with lukewarm water. Avoid applying conditioner, as the curd has already done that job of moisturizing your tresses!

5/5

How often should you use it?

For optimal effects of this hair pack, use it once a week. You'll notice less hair breakage, less dandruff, and noticeably shinier strands in three to four weeks.

Instead of soaking whole seeds, you can prepare a mask with curd and methi powder if you're pressed for time. Simply combine methi powder and curd, then apply as before! Long-term, natural treatments are good for your hair, but they do require some patience. The methi-curd hair pack is one such age-old beauty ritual that’s simple, effective, and completely chemical-free.
