Beautiful skin during summer

The summer season is the time when you have the most activities conducted outdoors. From barbecues to beaches and picnics, you spend most of your time in the sun. The sun snatches the moisture from your body as well as causes damage to your skin. In the present age, soft, smooth, clear, attractive, and glowing facial skin is rare. If you have one, you are indeed blessed. But you can not achieve the beauty of your skin without proper care. However, the fresh, youthful look can be maintained with a little hard work. Normally, worries and tension, coupled with the climatic effect, have a profound impact on the skin, and many women look aged even in their prime. Here are 7 tips that can give you radiant and glowing skin in summer:

2/6

Massage your face

Massaging the face is a must-follow beauty regime to keep early aging and stress at bay. The add-on to this daily care not only promises soft skin but also helps in stimulating blood circulation and removing dead skin. It helps in tightening the skin tissue, thus preventing the flabby and undesirable sagging skin.

3/6

Mask it up

You can use a natural face mask with fuller's earth or bentonite or rose water dipped cold cloth on your face and drink lots of water. You can ask a skin expert who will suggest to you what type of mask will be best for you. As with moisturizers, select your face mask according to your skin type. For instance, clay-based masks or those with ingredients for oily, spotty skin, such as salicylic acid, will cause normal-to-dry skin to flake off. If your skin is in need of moisture, select one for dry skin with skin-nourishing and replenishing ingredients like hyaluronic acid or vitamin E. You can add probiotics to your mask—when used topically, they decongest skin and absorb excess oil.

4/6

Be careful out in the sun

The harmful UV radiations, both UVA and UVB exposure for a longer period, are responsible for tanning during summers. Melanin is produced by cells called melanocytes in a process called melanogenesis. Excess solar radiation causes direct and indirect damage to skin, leading to sunburn, suntan, skin pigmentation, and early aging.

Use a good sunscreen with both UVA and UVB protectants, which should be waterproof and non-comedogenic.
Avoid the harsh suns rays between 10 am and 4 pm
Wear loose, dry, cotton, full sleeved clothes
Use sunglasses and broad brimmed hat

5/6

Try detan remedies and treatments

Dr. Megha Tandon, dermatologist, hair transplant surgeon, and aesthetic physician, MBBS and MD in dermatology, says, “Home care remedies do not help to detan; the best way to detan is to do treatments like chemical peels and skin polishing followed by a detan mask, which will help in immediate tan removal, but lemon juice, which is a natural bleaching agent, with aloe vera can be used, but some people can get allergic reactions. A pack of yogurt with turmeric and honey can also be used.”

6/6

Wash your face twice

As the name says itself, washing the face twice is actually washing the face twice in a row to clean the skin of pollution, impurities, or makeup. It is vital that you start washing your face twice at the same time to make sure that you remove all the makeup from the face. Double cleansing works on a simple logic that your beauty products will not work properly if they don’t reach the fertile ground. This basically means cleansing the skin twice at a given point; this is particularly useful in a city like Mumbai or Delhi, where pollution levels are very high. This helps to take off dust, grime, sweat, oils , day creams, and makeup from the skin; this helps in better penetration of the night serums and creams.

Start with an oil-based cleanser and follow up with a foaming cleanser. The first cleanser generally works as the makeup remover, which should be used very gently on the skin. In case the skin is very oily or acne-prone, glycolic acid or salicylic acid pads can also be used to degrease the skin. The second cleanser should always be suited to your skin type—this is generally a foaming face wash, which may be for oily and acne-prone skin, normal to combination skin, or dry and mature skin. However if skin is very sensitive, prone to rashes, sun allergy, eczema or rosacea, then avoid double cleansing and consult a dermatologist for the appropriate skin care

Buy a good sunscreen lotion and a light moisturizer to make your skin safe from sun damage. Look for SPF30++ to enjoy sunscreen benefits. Follow these tips to maximize your skin's natural radiance with a youthful look.
