Seva Teerth inaugurated

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Seva Teerth complex in New Delhi, marking a major shift in India’s governance system. The complex now houses the Prime Minister’s Office, National Security Council Secretariat and Cabinet Secretariat under one roof for the first time. (PTI image)

A unified PMO hub

Seva Teerth replaces the earlier system where key offices functioned from separate buildings. By bringing them together, the government aims to improve coordination, speed up decision-making and create a more efficient and integrated administrative structure. (ANI image)

Kartavya Bhavan opens

Along with Seva Teerth, the Prime Minister inaugurated Kartavya Bhavan 1 and 2. These new buildings will house major ministries including Finance, Defence, Health, Education, Agriculture and Law, consolidating offices that were earlier scattered across Central Vista. (PTI image)

Citizen-centric design

Both complexes feature digitally integrated offices, centralised reception areas and dedicated public interface zones. The government says the design focuses on efficiency, transparency and easier citizen engagement in line with modern governance needs. (PTI image)

Sustainable infrastructure

Built under 4-Star GRIHA standards, the buildings include renewable energy systems, water conservation measures and waste management solutions. Smart access controls, surveillance networks and advanced emergency systems ensure high levels of security and safety. (ANI image)

Moving beyond colonial names

The naming of Seva Teerth is part of a broader move to shed colonial-era symbols. Earlier, Rajpath was renamed Kartavya Path and Race Course Road became Lok Kalyan Marg. The government says the new names reflect service, duty and public welfare. (PTI image)

First files signed

Soon after shifting to Seva Teerth, the Prime Minister signed key policy approvals. The first decisions focused on women, youth, farmers and vulnerable citizens, reflecting what the government described as the spirit of “Seva” or service. Among the approvals was the PM RAHAT scheme and target for Lakhpati Didis was doubled to six crore by 2029 (PTI image)

Push for innovation

The Prime Minister also cleared Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 with a Rs 10,000 crore corpus to support innovation and deep-tech startups. Calling the moment historic, he said decisions taken at Seva Teerth will shape India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047. (PTI image)
