The announcement came in the wake of completion of 24-hours-deadline given by Hardik’s outfit Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS).

Manoj Panara, PAAS spokesperson and Morbi convener of the outfit, told reporters on Thursday evening, “Hardik will not consume water from now onwards as the BJP-led

Gujarat

government did not consider our three demands.”

Earlier, Hardik had stopped taking water on August 30. However, he again started taking water after SP Swami of Gadhada Swaminarayan temple offered him water considering his deteriorating health conditions as claimed by the PAAS.

Panara also accused the government of misguiding the people of Gujarat and alleged that the government may soon forcibly put Hardik in hospital, where the Patel leader may be harmed.

“If Hardik has to be hospitalised in a government hospital, then the government must keep PAAS leader, Hardik’s family and media persons along with him so that no efforts can be made by the state regime to harm Hardik,” said Panara.

Panara further alleged that the government wanted to create a turmoil in Gujarat so that it could book Hardik and all the leaders of PAAS under fresh case of sedition.
