RAIPUR: The Maoists on Wednesday killed a BJP leader at Tara village, 38 km from the police district headquarters of Narayanpur in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, for his pro-salva judum campaign.
The incident comes a day after seven people were killed at Chikuarguda village near Konta police station of Dantewara district, for "taking part in salva judum movement", .

Banshidhar Gupta, who was a member of the Narayanpur Janpad Panchayat, was axed to death by the Maoists when he was riding a motorcycle, Chhattisgarh home minister Ram Vichar Netam said, adding that a land revenue official, who was accompanying Gupta, however managed to escape.
Earlier, Gupta had organised a rally in favour of the salva judum movement at Hedki village of Narayanpur. Incidentally, the Maoists also killed the sarpanch of Hedki recently.
On Tuesday evening, the Maoists killed two tribals at a busy weekly market in Kirandul in Dantewara. In another incident, a salva judum activist was also shot dead at Bijapur town's weekly market by the Maoists.
