Massive explosion at an illegal firecracker factory

At least 11 people have been killed and dozens sustained injuries in a massive explosion at an illegal firecracker factory at Harda district of Madhya Pradesh. The injured have been rushed to the hospital.

Effects felt in a radius of 15 kilometers

​According to locals, the blast was so intense that its effect were felt in a radius of 15 kilometers. The glass windows were shattered and the shock of the blast led to a stampede. The rescue operation is still under way.

Victims rushed to hospitals

Victims were rushed to medical colleges in Bhopal and Indore. The hospitals have been asked to prep for patients with burns. 50 beds at Hamidia hospital in Bhopal and 10 beds at AIIMS Bhopal were also reserved for Harda incident patients.

150 workers were on the premises when the incident took place

According to factory workers, who managed to escape after the fire broke out, said about 150 workers were on the premises when the incident took place.

Government constituted committee to probe into the incident

​The state government has constituted a committee headed by ACS Mohammed Suleman to probe into the incident. Green corridor made between Harda - Indore and Harda - Bhopal. For bringing patients.

​A team of SDRF working with rescue

​Madhya Pradesh minister Uday Pratap Singh says, "We had a conversation with the Collector. The injured have been shifted to Hoshangabad and Bhopal. A team of SDRF is working here under the guidance of SDRF ADG who is present on the spot. Around 60 people have been injured in the incident."

CM announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh for the families of the deceased

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav said over 50 ambulances were rushed to the spot and announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh for the families of the deceased.
