CHANDIGARH: Amid announcement of plans for an integerated tourism complex at Mallah, Kalesar (Yamunanagar) and Madhogarh (Mahendergarh) and performance by gazal singer Chandan Das, the 6th Heritage Fest took off on low key note at Yadvindra Gardens at Pinjore on Friday.

Besides artisans from across the country, the event will see cultural programmes by artists from various states across the country.
In his address, Singh said it was only after Pinjore Gardens got international recognition, the government decided to come out with some eco-friendly tourism places in the state.
Meanwhile, programmes like paint-the-face competition, spot painting and heritage walk by senior citizens marked the inaugural session of the event, which will conclude on Sunday. Others present on the occasion included financial commissioner and principal secretary tourism Haryana, Dhanpat Singh and Haryana Tourism Corporation managing director Anand M Saran.
