Customs officials at Delhi's IGI Airport have seized 2.755 kg of smuggled gold valued at Rs 3.80 crore from an Indian passenger who arrived from Sharjah on June 1.

Acting on specific intelligence, officers intercepted the passenger and recovered two black pouches containing gold paste concealed beneath an aircraft seat during a follow-up search.

After extraction and refining, 2,755 grams of gold was recovered. The gold has been seized under the Customs Act, and the passenger has been arrested. Further investigation is underway.

Delhi's Karkardooma Court is set to pronounce its verdict on June 4 in the 2020 murder case of Intelligence Bureau official Ankit Sharma, who was killed during the North East Delhi riots.

Sharma's body was recovered from a drain after the violence. Former MCD councillor Tahir Hussain and 10 others are among the accused in the case.

The FIR was registered at Dayalpur Police Station based on a complaint filed by Sharma's father.

Three members of Britain’s Royal Navy have died after a helicopter crash during a training exercise in southwest England, the Ministry of Defence said.

The incident occurred shortly before 4:00 am local time near Sourton village in Devon.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the crash. The MoD said it is working to establish the circumstances and expressed condolences to the families of those killed.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested three key accused, Abhay Singh Rathore, Mohd Zakir and Rahul Badera, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, in connection with the Indore Municipal Corporation fake bill scam case.

According to the agency, the arrests were made on June 1 and the accused were later produced before a special PMLA court in Indore.

The court has granted ED custody of all three till June 5 for further investigation into the alleged multi-crore money laundering network.

"Over 290 suspects have been taken into police custody and are currently being interrogated at the Crime Branch.
