Goof-up 8: Shoe business
Apart from an ill fitted attire and overdone make-up, badly chosen footwear also tarnishes your image. Be it your high-heeled sandals making an irksome noise every time you walk down the office corridors, a pair of whacky, colourful sleepers that aren't chic or sport shoes that some men team with formal trousers - these bizarre fashion statements are common in offices. Unpolished shoes are the biggest fashion slip-up, mostly committed by men.

BLUNDER MANAGEMENT: Try wearing flats or maybe platforms that make comparatively lesser noise while walking. If you crave for pencil or pointed heels, carry them off well. As for colours, opt for basic shades of black, brown, white and avoid green, yellow, red and tiger prints.

Also, do not wear sneakers to office; instead get a pair of soft, flat shoes. Sports shoes can never become an office style statement, unless you're wearing casuals. Regular leather shoes mainly in black and brown fits the professional regimen perfectly.

(Pics Courtesy: Getty Images)

monika.rawal@indiatimes.co.in
