Turn off the Chat feature in Google Messages (RCS)

In the app's settings, navigate to General > Chat features and toggle the Enable chat features off. This will disable RCS capabilities and keep your SMS inbox free from pesky advertisements.

2/4

Block, unsubscribe, and report spam

Some companies provide an option to unsubscribe from their ads. If not, you can block senders by tapping on the business profile, selecting Block & report spam under the Options tab, and confirming your choice.

3/4

Install a different text (SMS) app

Consider using an alternative SMS app like Microsoft's SMS Organizer, which filters marketing and spam messages automatically. This can keep your inbox free from unwanted notifications and offline spam filtering.

4/4

WhatsApp as an alternative

If you want to steer clear of RCS spam, WhatsApp is a reliable alternative. With fewer spam issues and the added feature of Message Notifications, it provides a secure messaging experience.
