The Rs 3 Lakh Mango: Why guarding this Mango has turned out to be a nightmare for this Odisha farmer
What really happened?
A farmer in Odisha is suddenly making national headlines all because of a single, extraordinary tree in his orchard. In Tamasa village, located within Odisha's Malkangiri district, a farmer named Deba Padhiami has achieved something remarkable: he has successfully cultivated the famous Japanese Miyazaki mango. This incredibly rare and coveted variety is known globally as one of the most expensive fruits on Earth.
Growing the mangoes
The Miyazaki mango is very special because it is red and sweet. It is not easy to grow this kind of mango so it is a deal that Deba was able to do it. When people found out that he was growing these mangoes they started to get very interested in his farm. Suddenly his mango tree became very valuable. People wanted to see it. Debas farm is now famous because of the Miyazaki mango trees. The mangoes on his trees are like money. This is a big change, for Deba.
The Rs 3 Lakh Selling Dilemma
Sleepless Nights
Without a secure buyer lined up, the extreme value of the crop has painted a target on Deba’s farm. Fears of theft or vandalism have stripped the joy right out of his success. To protect his high-stakes investment, Deba has been forced to pull all-night guard shifts. He is currently spending sleepless nights personally watching over the tree, anxiously waiting for a solution to arrive before his rare harvest goes to waste.
How internet reacted
While the internet has mixed reactions to this unusual mango, one user commented that he can sell these mangoes on OLX, while another user commented that ‘No problem, he can sell for 1 lakh.'
