Lalit Modi finds boy who broke down after missing Virat Kohli autograph, promises signed IPL bat
In a world where viral videos disappear almost as quickly as they appear, one little boy's heartbreak seems to have found an unexpected happy ending.
A few months ago, social media was flooded with a video of a young Virat Kohli fan desperately trying to get his hero's autograph. The boy, now identified as Yugveer Budhiraja, could be seen making repeated attempts to reach the cricket superstar. But every time he got close, security personnel stopped him.

What followed struck a nerve with cricket fans across the country.
After being turned away again and again, the disappointed youngster walked off in tears. In a moment that many viewers found hard to watch, he threw down his bat in frustration.
The clip quickly spread online, with thousands of people sympathising with the heartbroken fan. Among those who watched it was Lalit Modi.
The former IPL chairman recently revealed during a conversation with Humans of Bombay that the video stayed with him long after he first saw it.
According to Modi, watching the young boy cry over a missed autograph "broke his heart."
And instead of simply moving on, he decided to do something about it.
Modi said he asked his team to find the boy so that he could gift him something special — a bat from the inaugural IPL season signed by every player, including Virat Kohli.
"I will send him a Season 1 bat. The bat is signed by every player, which has Virat Kohli's signature as well," Modi said.
Ironically, he admitted he doesn't even own an individual Virat Kohli-signed bat himself.
At the time, it sounded like a promise that might be difficult to fulfil. After all, finding one young cricket fan from a viral video isn't exactly easy.
But the internet had other plans.
This week, Yugveer shared an update that delighted cricket lovers.
In a video posted on Instagram, the young fan revealed that he had personally received a video call from Lalit Modi.
The surprise call clearly left him thrilled.
"Thank you Mr Lalit Modi Sir for reaching out to me. You made my morning truly special," Yugveer said.
"Waking up to your video call was an unforgettable moment and means a lot to me. I'm so happy that you found me and I'm so much excited to receive the bat from you."
For a child who once walked away in tears after missing out on an autograph, the moment must have felt surreal.
And the story doesn't end there.
Modi also dropped a comment on the post, reassuring the youngster that the prized bat was already on its way.
"I am so glad I could find you. The bat I am sending will be personally delivered to your home in Delhi," he wrote.
Sometimes, social media can be exhausting. Outrage comes and goes. People move on.
But every now and then, a story reminds everyone why the internet can still be a nice place.
One disappointed fan. One viral video. And a promise that turned into reality.
