Gold ring worth lakhs slips into train toilet - Indian Railways staff pull off incredible recovery
According to details shared by the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Ahmedabad, the incident took place in coach B-8 of train number 09037. During the journey, a gold ring reportedly slipped into the toilet and disappeared straight into the drainage pipe and tank system.
As per the DRM’s post on X, railway staff members including Senior Section Engineer (C&W) Sanjay Yadav, CTS staff member Virendra Kumar Singh, and other team members spent hours working around filthy pipelines, waste tanks, and unbearable stench just to locate the missing ring.
The moment the ring was returned to the passenger reportedly became the highlight of the entire incident. The DRM praised the railway staff for their dedication, honesty, and willingness to go far beyond routine duty just to help a traveller.
Soon after the story surfaced online, social media users flooded the comments section with appreciation for the staff members involved in the recovery.
One user wrote that railway workers are often criticised online, so moments like these deserve equal attention too. Another praised the sanitation staff involved, calling the recovery effort “genuinely commendable” considering the conditions they had to work in.
And honestly, most passengers would have mentally said goodbye to the ring the second it disappeared into the train toilet. The fact that an entire team actually went searching through the drainage system to recover it is probably why the internet cannot stop talking about the story right now.
