Karni Mata Temple, Rajasthan

Karni Mata Temple, located in Deshnoke, Rajasthan, is famously known as the Rat Temple. This temple is home to over 25,000 black rats, which are considered sacred and are worshipped. The temple was built in the early 20th century by Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner. Devotees believe that these rats are the reincarnated souls of Karni Mata’s followers. Spotting a white rat among the black ones is considered highly auspicious. The temple’s architecture features intricate marble carvings and a silver door, adding to its unique appeal.

Bullet Baba Temple, Rajasthan

The Bullet Baba Temple, also known as Om Banna Temple, is located near Jodhpur, Rajasthan. This temple is dedicated to a Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle and its rider, Om Singh Rathore, who died in a road accident in 1988. According to local legend, the motorcycle mysteriously returned to the accident site multiple times despite being moved by the police. The temple was built at the accident site, and devotees offer prayers and alcohol to the motorcycle, seeking blessings for safe journeys.

Kodungallur Bhagavathy Temple, Kerala

Kodungallur Bhagavathy Temple, located in Thrissur, Kerala, is known for its unique and controversial Bharani festival. During this festival, devotees engage in ritualistic abuse and hurl obscene words at the deity, Goddess Bhadrakali. Nidhivan Temple, Uttar Pradesh

Nidhivan Temple, located in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, is associated with the legend of Lord Krishna and Radha. The temple is surrounded by dense forests, and it is believed that Lord Krishna performs his divine dance (Ras Leela) with Radha and the gopis every night. Veerabhadra Temple, located in Lepakshi, Andhra Pradesh, is renowned for its architectural marvel, the hanging pillar. Constructed in the 16th century by the Vijayanagara rulers, this temple is dedicated to Lord Veerabhadra, a fierce form of Shiva. The temple’s most intriguing feature is a pillar that seemingly defies gravity by not touching the ground. Visitors often pass a cloth or paper underneath to confirm this phenomenon. The temple complex also boasts intricate carvings and vibrant frescoes depicting scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Puranas. Additionally, a massive Nandi statue, carved from a single block of granite, stands about 200 meters away from the temple, adding to its grandeur.
