The

first look

poster of Venkatesh Maha’s ‘C/o Kancharapalem’ has been released on social media by Rana Daggubati and by Suresh Babu at the success meet of Tharun Bhascker’s ‘Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi’.

‘C/o Kancharapalem’ that features 80 residents of the locality in Visakhapatnam was received well at the

New York Indian Film Festival

. Rana launched the

poster

on his social media and wrote, “Presenting to you some నేటి(వ్) ప్రేమకథలు through #CareofKancharapalem” (sic) He added, “All the people from and around #Kancharapalem. Pls send me a shoutout with YOURNAME#COKancharapalem.” (sic) Numerous residents of the locality commented under the post with their names.

Talking during the

launch

at the success meet of Tharun Bhascker’s film, the director Venkatesh Maha said, “Good days are here for the Telugu film industry. I am happy the industry is encouraging new talent and stories. Many producers lie in wait of innovative stories and for directors like me, I want to tell you, don’t hesitate to write off-beat stories because there will be someone in the industry to support you. I want to thank the residents of Kancharapalem and Suresh Babu too for the effort they have put it to make this film a reality.”

Previously, talking to Hyderabad Times, the 29 year old director had called the film a slice-of-life romance and an ode to the Kancherapalem locality of Visakhapatnam. Talking about the film, he said, “It’s an anthology of four love stories set in Kancharapalem featuring residents of the area. Of the 85-member-cast only 5 are from Hyderabad, the rest are locals with no acting experience to speak of. The protagonists are of varied ages, ranging from the age of 13 to 50. Though the film falls in the romance genre, it is in essence a reflection of life that will resonate with people of all age groups.”

The release date and further details of the film are awaited.
