Nikhil Siddhartha Best roles the actor has played in Tollywood

Nikhil Siddhartha is undoubtedly one of the most successful and good looking actors of Tollywood today. Despite a guy next door personality, he has made it big in the showbiz world. It has been 15-years since Nikhil forayed into the film industry and proved his mettle as a talented actor. The actor started his career as a guest artist in 2003 film ‘Sambaram’ and since then till now the chocolate boy had done over 15 films so far. As the actor turns 33 today, here we take a look some of the best roles the actor has played in Tollywood films.

2/7

Happy Days

Nikhil’s breakthrough role in the film ‘Happy Days’ where the actor plays the college-goer, Rajesh, who is carefree about his studies and has issues with his co-student Aparna (Appu) in this campus drama, which was helmed by Sekhar Kammula. Nikhil played Rajesh while Gayatri Rao, who’s also the boy’s best friend, essayed Aparna. Nikhil delivers a powerful performance as a carefree college-goer on an unintentional journey of friendship and love. Over the years, ‘Happy Days’ acquired the cult status among the audience.

3/7

Yuvatha

Nikhil played a trouble-making guy who fights with his uncle in the village and heads to the city where his best friend works as a software engineer. Even though the actor has shared screen space with some other young actors, his charisma makes him a confidant among his peer. Addressing the issues of fake currency notes, ‘Yuvatha’ has the matured performance of the actor especially while dealing with the dons of the city in the second half. In one of the scenes with Randhir Gattla, he certainly melts our hearts and makes us go awww!

4/7

Swamy Ra Ra

Nikhil stars as the thief, who is often referred to as Surya in the 2013 crime comedy directed by Sudheer Varma. Surya joins a group to steal things and finally gets a big deal of a Gold Vinayaka idol to sell it off for a huge price. The way he robs things are very interesting and superbly executed in the film. The film came as a ray of sunshine during the dark days of his career. The actor has indeed played the role with much conviction. ‘Swamy Ra Ra’ paved the way for a lot of crime comedy films in Telugu.

5/7

Karthikeya

His portrayal in the film gives us a new vision of who the hard-nosed medico protagonist is. ‘Karthikeya’ tells the story of a suave young medico who never believed in God. He heads to a village called Subrahmanyapuram to figure out the mystery of an old Kartikeya temple in the place. In this film, while some scenes are quite hilarious, the others gave us thrills and goosebumps, thanks to the remarkable performance of both lead actors, Nikhil and Swathy and their on-screen chemistry with each other. It is reportedly Nikhil’s finest performances to date.

6/7

Surya vs Surya

For his portrayal as a young college goer with a hereditary disorder called ‘Porphyria’, he had received the widespread credit for his acting chops that he so precisely deserved. Upon release, ‘Surya vs Surya’ opened to exceptional reviews from critics and fans. Directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, the film is loosely based on the 2006 Japanese film ‘Midnight Sun’, which tells the story from Surya’s perspective. He showing himself with the sun is one of the most chilling scenes where he pulled that trigger. The story of the movie isn’t just regular, its slick.

7/7

Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada

Nikhil has played a graduate who takes his mentally disturbed friend to Kerala for treatment. He took on one of his most challenging roles in this supernatural romantic thriller. The film, which also starred Hebah Patel and Nandita Swetha, tackled some issues including eternal love, friendship, religious belief, values and practices etc. Well, his characterisation was so impressive that critics, as well as the audience, praised him for his commendable work. ‘Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada’ was reportedly a hit and still remains one of the best films in Tollywood ever.
