Krishna Kumar Kunnath

) died yesterday after a live concert in Kolkata. He was performing at Nazrul Mancha on Tuesday before falling ill in his hotel room and was declared dead due to a massive heart arrest before reaching a hospital.

KK started his film musical journey in the year 1996 in

Bollywood

. He was introduced to the south cinema with an evergreen musical hit ‘Prema Desam’ in which he has crooned “College Style”, and “Hello Doctor Heart Missaaye” and continued singing in several superhit south films in the following years.

He has also sung very popular Pawan Kalyan’s song “Ye Mera Jaha” from ‘Kushi’ in the year 2000 and his last song in

Telugu

was in the year 2014 titled "Kanabadunaa” from the film ‘Nee Jathaga Nenundali’. KK has sung songs in over 8 Indian languages.


He has sung his last Telugu song “Kanabadunaa” for the 2014 film ‘Nee Jatha Nenundali’ for the music director Jeet Ganguli.


He was 53 years old and was survived by his wife Jyothy and has a son and daughter. His son Nakul Krishna Kumar Kunnath is also a singer.

, was brought up in New Delhi. He reportedly sang over 3500 jingles before making his Bollywood debut.
