Tollywood actors who played physically challenged characters on screen

Things are changing and Tollywood actors believe that they need to move away from the regular commercial characters and would like to explore different types of subjects in their career. In fact, there are plenty of inspiring stories which will create wonders at the box office. We have already seen such kind of roles and films in recent times. Hence, here is a list of Tollywood actors who played physically challenged characters on screen.

Nagarjuna in Oopiri

Tollywood star Akkineni Nagarjuna was seen essaying the most challenging role in his career. He had portrayed a wealthy entrepreneur with Quadriplegia in the 2016 comedy-drama ‘Oopiri’, directed by Vamshi Paidipally. His name is Vikramadhitya and a convict on a parole has been appointed to look after him and the tale revolves around them. He is seen completely sitting on the wheelchair but, performance wise he is commendable. As an experienced actor, he was excited to play a physically challenged character when the role was offered to him.

Ram Charan in Rangasthalam

Mega power star Ram Charan has essayed a partially deaf, light-hearted, and jolly village guy in his last big release ‘Rangasthalam’ to be directed by Sukumar. The director had made his debut with Allu Arjun starrer ‘Arya’ and then tasted success with the films such as ‘Arya 2’, ‘100% Love’, and ‘Nannaku Prematho’. This was Ram Charan’s 10th film so, it was a super special one for him. We have already seen how the film shaped up and in the recent times, no hero had played a physically challenged person in films. Currently, Ram Charan is busy shooting for his next with Boyapati Srinu.

Ravi Teja in Raja the Great

Mass Maha Raja Ravi Teja often comes out of his comfort zone and is game for some experimentation with characters he portrays on screen. The star actor took a big step to play a role that has vision deficiency in the Anil Ravipudi directorial ‘Raja The Great’. Although he has played a blind man, he’s energetic throughout the film in terms of performance. As a mass action hero, it was a daring step for the talented actor. Interestingly, in the introductory scene of Ravi Teja, the makers depicted how he lives in the dark world. Ravi Teja will be next seen in ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ to be directed by Sreenu Vaitla.

Raj Tarun in Andhhagadu

Raj Tarun, who was last seen in the Annish Krishna directorial ‘Lover’, had played a blind man in the 2017 hit film ‘Andhhagadu’. Hebah Patel, Rajendra Prasad, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sayaji Shinde, Raja Ravindra, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao were also part of his project. He falls in love with a young doctor who helps him to get eyes, faces several unexpected consequences in his newborn life. As a young and promising actor, Raj Tarun’s decision to play this role was seen as a bold move. The moment Raj Tarun knew that he was going to essay the role of a blind person, he got completely immersed into the whole set up.

Aadhi Pinisetty in Nevevaro

Aadhi Pinisetty, who was last seen in the Ram Charan starrer ‘Rangasthalam’, has signed his next with Kona Venkat for suspense murder mystery ‘Nevevaro’. Directed by Hari Nath, the film will have him playing a dual role; a blind chef and a crime reporter. As the title suggests, it’s not a romantic comedy, it is about the investigation of a murder mystery of a blind chef who gets killed in a fatal car accident. The makers added that the movie will be an entertaining watch in every bit.
