Siddharth Suryanarayan, Sushanth, Sri Devi: 5 South actors who faced mistaken identity cases

In an unfortunate situation like yesterday, South actor Siddharth Suryanarayan was mistaken for the late actor Siddharth Shukla, who was in the news for his untimely demise. Netizens mistakenly and deliberately shared RIP msgs on Siddharth Suryanarayan's picture that made rounds on social media. The confusion took place as both the actors had the same first names and were equally popular. This isn't the first time that such a thing happened to celebrities as there are cases of mistaken identity in the past too. So here we compile a list of south actors whose names were often confused with some other actors.

Siddharth Suryanarayan was mistaken as late Siddharth Shukla

South actor Siddharth had previously expressed his pain several times that some people are deliberately harassing him on social media platforms. Despite all said and done, the 'Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana' actor had another bitter experience on social media, after the untimely demise of TV star Siddharth Shukla due to massive cardiac arrest. As reported south actor Siddharth took to his Twitter expressing his concerns and wrote, "Targetting hate and harassment. What have we been reduced to?”

Sushanth (Telugu actor) was mistaken as late Sushant Singh Rajput

Telugu actor Sushanth too faced this mistaken identity crisis in 2020 when the death of Sushant Singh Rajput had caught everyone's attention. A few social media users were confused with the Telugu actor and instead of SSR. The main reason for this confusion was that both the actors had delivered some successful films, shared the same age group and of course the name.

Sri Devi Vijaykumar often mistaken as Veteran Sridevi

Not many know that the young Telugu actress Sri Devi has a ‘Vijay kumar’suffix to her name, to avoid any confusion to that of yesteryear’s star actress. Where both have been into the Tamil and Telugu film industry and have acted in several movies. The young crowd mistakes Sri Devi Vijaykumar's movies for Veteran Sridevi's sometimes.

Sanjana was mistaken as Sanjana

Recently there was one such confusion due to mistaken identity again due to similar names and both being actresses, where Sanjana Galrani (Telugu-Kannada actress) was mistaken to be the winner of a beauty pageant when ‘Sanjana Anne’ had won the ‘Miss-Misses India 2021’ Grand Finale Pageant.

Actress with the name 'Aishwarya'

Not just the above, still many such name confusions exist especially in the entertainment industry due to having a similar name. There are at least half a dozen actresses with the name ‘Aishwarya’ namely Aishwarya Bhaskaran (Tamil actress), Aishwarya Arjun (Kannada actress), Aishwarya Rajesh (Telugu actress), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (Hindi actress), Aishwarya Dhanush (Rajinikanth’s daughter & film director) and Aishwarya Lekshmi (Malayalam actress) without having a proper suffix it is very tough for the public to know who is who.
