Ever since the novel coronavirus

lockdown

was announced, animal activists and lovers have been taking to social media to ask the question – do you understand what it feels like now?

Numerous celebrities too have shared pictures of

animals

being raised in

captivity

or at

zoos

and shared how they now feel like an animal in a cage.

Saaho

star Shraddha Kapoor too had a similar insight to provide recently. “So, you’re tired of isolation? ‏‏‎As COVID-19 has forced the world to

quarantine

, we’ve all felt the effects of

isolation

depression

, anxiety, loneliness,” she wrote, adding, “Animals experience these same emotions. As humans, we tend to lack empathy for others until we’ve experienced their situation ourselves. But now that we’ve felt the suffering of captivity, let’s extend empathy toward the other living beings that we share this planet with.” (sic)

Detailing on how numerous animals across the world have been suffering due to lack of empathy, she wrote, “Millions of animals have been isolated their entire lives. In isolation, these animals exhibit concerning behaviors including self-harm. Mental health is not a uniquely human trait. This is not normal.” Stating that we’re guests on this planet and now owners, she rounded off with, “No living being should live in captivity. We are guests of this planet, not masters.” (sic)

Her take on the whole covid-19 situation has gotten support from various celebs and fans, if the comments section is anything to go by.
