Samantha will be next seen in 'Kushi', a romantic comedy film. It also stars Vijay Deverakonda. Murali Sharma, Lakshmi, Ali, Rohini, Jayaram, Sachin Khedakar, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna, Srikanth Iyengar, and Saranya will be playing key roles in 'Kushi', directed by Shiva Nirvana. Hesham Abdul Wahab of 'Haridayam' fame has been brought on board to compose the music. The film is scheduled to release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam on December 23.

Gunasekhar's upcoming mythological drama, 'Shaakuntalam', featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead, will release next year. The film, which is based on the popular play 'Shakuntala' by Kalidasa, has Samantha playing the titular role and Dev Mohan playing Dushyanta. Allu Arjun's daughter Allu Arha will play Prince Bharata.
