Deva Katta’s
Sai Dharam Tej,
Aishwarya Rajesh and
Ramya Krishnan starrer
Republic
was launched by
Chiranjeevi on Wednesday.
Sharing the trailer, the actor wrote, “సాయి ధరమ్ తేజ్ త్వరగా కోలుకుంటున్నాడు. రిపబ్లిక్ చిత్రం అక్టోబర్ 1 వ తారీఖున విడుదల చేస్తే బాగుంటుందన్న తన కోరిక మేరకు అదే తేదీన చిత్రం విడుదల అవుతుంది. మీ ఆదరణ, అభిమానం, ప్రేమే సాయి ధరమ్ తేజ్ కి శ్రీరామ రక్ష. (sic)” (Sai Dharam Tej is recovering quickly. Republic will release on October 1 as per his wishes. Your acceptance, love and affection are his protection.)
The trailer sees Sai Dharam Tej play a young Collector facing off Ramya Krishnan’s character. Jagapathi Babu plays his ageing father in the film that seems to show Sai Dharam Tej in a whole new light. Republic also sees Aishwarya Rajesh as the female lead, even if her role isn’t clear yet. With music by Mani Sharma, editing by KL Praveen and cinematography by M Sukumar, the film will tell the story of a young Collector looking to make a mark in politics.
Sai Dharam Tej is currently hospitalised having met with a
bike
accident on September 10. The last health bulletin released by the hospital states that he’s out of danger, recovering from his collar bone surgery and no longer in need of assisted breathing. Madhapur police had confirmed that the actor wasn't under the influence of
alcohol
and his bike had skid on mud. Further details are awaited.
