The Telugu film 'HanuMan' which was released during Sankranti in January 2024 was a blockbuster hit and the film made a gross of Rs 350 crore at the box office worldwide. Directed by Prasanth Varma, the movie is a mythological fantasy super hero film and it stars Teja Sajja and Amritha Aiyer in lead roles and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Vinay Rai in pivotal roles.

The film is now all set to release in Japan in 3D version and director Prasanth Varma speaking to the Hindustan Times yesterday revealed that the movie has been converted to 3D for its international release and said that it will also be released in India in selective screens in 3D while the movie gets released in Japan this October.


Prasanth Varma mentioned that while Hindi films have made an impact in the west and how Bollywood industry takes over the screens in US, he said that Telugu films make a connection with Japan and Korean audience and stated that following the films 'RRR' and 'Salaar' that were released in Japan, it has become a very potential market for South films. It is expected that 'HanuMan' will be a massive success in Japan as well.


'HanuMan' is already the second highest grossing Telugu film in India this year and the eight highest of all time. Now, with its international release, the movie is expected to be the major blockbuster of 2024. The film also marks the first installment of Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe and the work for sequel is underway.
