Father’s Day

, the 30-year-old actress talked about her dad and the sacrifices he made to lay a better future for her. Speaking to E Times, she said “In everyone’s life, the power of a dad is unmatched. I lost my mom when I was 6 and till today, my dad played the role of both father and mother. Though he was very young when my mom passed away, he didn’t marry again only because of me. He loved me like anything and I’m indebted to him forever.”

“My father was initially unhappy regarding my decision to join the film industry. But he always supported me financially whenever required and after all these years, he feels proud of my work and I too feel proud to just be his daughter,” she added.

Payal also said that when she feels like seeing a guy and marrying him, she will try to compare him to her father. She believes that ‘A girl’s first true love is her dad.’

Recently, the actress took her Instagram handle and mentioned that she has been battling

depression

from the past five years. Admitting that she had undergone a series of panic attacks during the hard times, she is getting through all of it with help from family, friends and doctors. Payal shared the post after Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide due to depression.

To help the needy ones during these hard times of COVID-19, Payal Ghosh has been selling homemade chocolates online and donating all the money made. “The situation is getting worse by the minute and the ones who are suffering are on a big uprising. The nation needs us now. We have to put up our hands and help in the situation. Everyone can make contributions,” she told IANS.
