Born on March 31, 1979, talented story-teller, Harish Shankar turns 42 today. One of the biggest mainstream filmmakers of Tollywood, after assisting veteran directors like Puri Jagannadh and Ram Gopal Varma started his career as a director with Shock in 2006. The dialogues and heroism in his heroes have been a speciality of Harish Shankar film that seems to have a stronghold on audiences' expectations. Mirapakay

Starring Ravi Teja, Richa Gangopadhyay and Deeksha Seth, the Harish Shankar second directorial venture was showered with critical and commercial acclaim. The film went on to be a huge hit and was dubbed into Hindi as Khallas and into Tamil as Murattu Singam. Anyone who sees the film can easily identify that the director Harish Shankar has a flair for writing and his brilliant execution of a great story was loved by one and all.

Gabbar Singh

The first Tollywood film that brought together the deadly combo of Power Star Pawan Kalyan-Harish Shankar went on to make a big money-spinner. Gabbar Singh, a comedy action entertainer saw Pawan Kalyan don a kakhi avatar. The film has such a special place in the hearts of people that even after almost a decade people do not miss the movie every time it's telecast on television. It was an important film for Pawan, as it marked his successful comeback in Tollywood. The way Harish Shankar utilised the iconic style of Pawan Kalyan to create a box office success was commendable.

Subramanyam For Sale

Harish Shankar’s magic managed to bring out a different Sai Dharam Tej in this film who played the role of a money-minded yet good guy. The film's different plot was loved by all and especially the actor's hard work. The comic timing of each and every actor is so precise, that you cannot stop laughing. Harish created such a splendid and situational comedy that you just can't have enough of this hit film. The action comedy-drama added a feather to Harish’s cap of achievements as it did very well at the box office.

Duvvada Jagannadham

Harish Shankar joined forces with Stylish Star Allu Arjun for the first time to make a blockbuster hit Duvvada Jagannadham. The booming commercial success stole people’s hearts and is still considered to be one of the director’s best works to date. Duvvada Jagannadham is still fresh in people's minds for Allu Arjun’s unmatched style, Pooja Hegde’s charming screen presence and for some wonderful tunes by Devi Sri Prasad.

Gaddalakonda Ganesh

Gaddalakonda Ganesh was truly a magnum opus for Varun Tej Konidela. He portrayed a dreaded gangster for the first time much to the amusement of his fans. It was the subtle direction of Harish Shankar along with a stellar performance of the lead cast that made Gaddalakonda Ganesh the biggest hit in Tollywood. The remix song Elluvachi Godaramma and Varun Tej-Pooja Hegde Jodi made the audience go gaga over this action thriller.


And now, PSPK 28 brings the reputed Pawan-Harish combination back together for the second time. We hope the director strikes gold yet again. ETimes Telugu wishes the talented filmmaker a very happy birthday!
