Fun facts about Baahubali The Epic star cast

‘Baahubali’ is an Indian cinema phenomenon. Its re-release, ‘Baahubali: The Epic’, combines both original parts. It is a stunning, single film experience. The movie hit theaters on October 31, 2025. The film’s grandeur and intense performances captivated a global audience. The main cast Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan and Sathyaraj, became household names. Now, let’s dive into some surprising facts about these celebrated actors

2/6

Prabhas

Prabhas, the face of ‘Baahubali’, pushed boundaries. His real name is Uppalapati Venkata Suryanarayana Prabhas Raju. He became the first South Indian actor with a Madame Tussauds wax statue in Bangkok. The star trained for three years and transformed physically to bring Amarendra and Mahendra Baahubali alive. Interestingly, he once dreamed of running a hotel chain before choosing cinema. Commitment and humility define him even today.

3/6

Anushka Shetty

Anushka Shetty stands tall in more ways than one, literally at 5’9”. Before ruling screens, she taught yoga in Mumbai, calling that phase deeply memorable. For the movie ‘Size Zero’, she reportedly gained nearly 20 kilos to keep the role authentic, proving her dedication. The actress studied at Mount Carmel College, Bengaluru, the same college Deepika Padukone attended.

4/6

Ramya Krishnan

Ramya Krishnan gave us the unforgettable Sivagami. A trained Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dancer, she brought grace and power to the role. She is the niece of legendary Tamil actor and critic Cho Ramaswamy. With more than 250 films across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi, her career is as majestic as her Baahubali character. Fierce, elegant, and timeless every frame.

5/6

Rana Daggubati

Rana Daggubati stunned viewers as Bhallaladeva. A lesser known fact is that he is blind in his right eye and his left eye is a transplanted one, a truth that he revealed openly. With a degree in industrial photography, he studied alongside Ram Charan and Sharwanand. Beyond films, he’s a sharp businessman. He co-owns Hyderabad FC and invests in iconic brands like Amar Chitra Katha. Focus, grit, and enterprise define him.

6/6

Tamannaah Bhatia

Tamannaah, who played Avantika, started young at the age 14. She added an extra ‘a’ to her name for numerology. Her acting journey began at just 14 with the Tamil film ‘Ennakku 20 Unnakku 18’. Before films, she appeared in Abhijeet Sawant’s music video “Lafzo Mein.” Today, she has worked in 60+ movies across three major industries Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Her hard work continues to help her evolve.
