Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 'Akhanda 2: Thaandavam' is clearly slowing down at the box office. The film has now started to see a steady fall in daily collections after holding on for more than two weeks.
Balayya's film earned only Rs 31 lakhs in India net on day 19. This is a visible drop when compared to the weekend numbers. The total India net collection now stands at around Rs 91.96 crores.
Daily numbers keep going down
According to the Sacnilk website, on day 17 the film collected Rs 90 lakhs. The collections dropped sharply to Rs 35 lakhs on the very next day. Day 19 did not bring any relief as the film managed just Rs 31 lakhs. The pace has slowed down a lot in the third week even though the film is close to the Rs 100 crore mark.
Low occupancy across Telugu shows
On the last day, 'Akhanda 2: Thaandavam' recorded an overall 14.34% Telugu occupancy. Morning shows saw 12.69%, while afternoon shows stayed at 14.16%. Evening shows dipped slightly to 12.61%, and night shows did a bit better with 17.91%. These numbers are not strong enough to push collections up during weekdays.
Mixed talk affects long run
Directed by
Boyapati Srinu, the film stars Balakrishna Nandamuri, Samyuktha Menon, Aadhi Pinisetty, Harshaali Malhotra, Kabir Duhan Singh, and Saswata Chatterjee. Social media reactions to the film remain mixed and often harsh. One social media review said, “Instead of ‘so bad it’s fun,’ he delivered ‘so bad it’s painful.’ It’s boring, impossible to focus on, outrageously loud, ridiculously violent, and proudly brainless.” Another viewer wrote, “Waste of time. If you're looking to ruin your evening or give yourself a serious headache, this is the movie to watch.”
