Anil Ravipudi was inspired by Mohanlal's 'Yoddha' to make Ravi Teja and Mehreen Pirzada starrer 'Raja the Great'

’ starring Ravi Teja and Mehreen Pirzada has been making a killing at the box office.

Recently, the director shared that he has wanted to make this blind-action film since ten years. It was Mohan Lal’s ‘Yoddha’, where he plays a visually challenged man who saves a young girl that inspired him to make the film. It was the heroism tinged with the disability that moved him.

But Anil stated that there are no similarities between the two films as the script for ‘Raja the Great’ was written keeping Ravi Teja’s energy and body language in mind. All it took was two scenes and half an hour for the star to okay the project.

While movies have previously released on the concept of blindness, Anil states that he never felt like he was taking a risk with the project. The Hindi rights for ‘Raja the Great’ have sold out at Rs 18 Cr and it seems like good times are in store for the film!
