Naga Chaitanya’s much-anticipated action drama Thandel is gaining strong momentum in the USA as advance ticket sales witness an impressive surge. The film, which is just two days away from its grand premiere, has seen over a 100% jump in pre-sales, setting the stage for a remarkable opening in North America.

As per the latest figures, Thandel has now amassed US $91,620 ( Rs 80 lakh) from 291 locations with almost 600 shows and having sold over 6500 tickets in the United States of America. This marks a significant rise as just a day ago the film’s ticket sales were at US $40,000 from 129 locations and had sold almost 2800 tickets. With more locations and shows being added, industry experts anticipate even bigger jumps in the final two days leading up to the premiere.

The film is currently trending towards a $300,000 premiere gross in North America, provided it sees another strong surge in ticket sales. If this upward trend continues, Thandel could become one of Naga Chaitanya’s biggest openers in the region.Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Thandel is inspired by real-life events wherein an Indian fisherman was arrested by Pakistan for over 22 years. The film features Naga Chaitanya in a never-seen-before avatar and also stars Sai Pallavi as the leading lady, marking an exciting on-screen reunion for the duo after their successful collaboration in Love Story which released back in 2021.

This will be Naga’s first film post his wedding with Sobhita Dhulipala, the two of them got married on 4th December 2024 and their wedding will be showcased on Netflix in a form of a documentary.Naga was earlier married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
