Vijay, the leading South Indian actor was last seen on the big screens in the family entertainer 'Varisu', which was directed by Vamshi Paidipally. The box office blockbuster earned over Rs 310 crores, and the film also had a theatrical run of over 50 days across locations. After ruling the big screens, 'Varisu' is now set to conquer the small screen, and the film is announced to have a television premiere on April 14 for the occasion of Tamil New Year.
'Varisu' will be airing in the prime evening slot on a popular Tamil television channel, and we have to wait to see whether the film emerges with the highest TRP ratings or not. 'Viswasam' (18.14 M), 'Pichaikkaran' (17.69 M), and 'Annaatthe' (17.37 M) stand in the top three Tamil films with the respective impression, while Vijay's 'Sarkar' stands as the actor's best with 16.9 Million impression and overall's fourth Tamil film.
'Varisu' features Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, and the film was released in theatres along with the Telugu dubbed version for the last Pongal. The holiday release of the actor received a great response to develop as the actor's highest-grossing film. Sarathkumar, Jaya Sudha, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shaam, Ganesh Venkatraman, Yogi Babu, Sangeetha, and Samyuktha among others played supporting roles, while SJ Suryah appeared in a cameo role. Thaman scored the music, and his first-ever music for Vijay turned into the biggest hit.
