They need to be educated about equality and decency, says Amyra

Amyra Dastur worked with Dhanush in KV Anand's film
A few days back leaked screenshots from an Instagram group called

boys locker room

shocked the country. School going boys who were part of the group had discussed about raping girls and passed lewd comments on girls. As the screenshots from the group were shared on social media, the

social media

users couldn’t believe 16 year old boys were normalising rape.

A number of celebrities and social activities out of utter shock slammed the group and demanded immediate action for their insensitive conversation about girls. As so many people were suggesting sex education could be an important solution to stop further cases, Amyra Dastur has a different solution. She took to her social media to post, ‘The boys don’t need sex education. They need to be educated about equality,

consent

& DECENCY! Education about what RAPE actually is & a new perspective on girls & women! This isn’t about Sex Ed, it’s about a superiority & misogynistic chain of thought that needs to be broken (sic)’

Amyra Dastur was part of

KV Anand

’s

Anegan

which had Dhanush playing the lead. She is now part of Oodi Oodi Uzhaikanum.
