Tamil stars who learnt horse riding for films

Kajal shared a video of her riding a horse today. She is prepping for Indian 2, her comeback film post her delivery. She wrote, “Eager and excited, I jumped back into work 4 months post-partum! Little did I realise that it would feel like starting from scratch. My body wasn’t the same as how it used to be. Pre baby, I could endure very long workdays with taxing amounts of physical activity AND then hit the gym. Post baby, it’s been hard to get back my energy levels. Mounting a horse, let alone riding it seemed like a huge task! My body protested with the martial arts training that came so easily to me earlier.”

Trisha learnt horse riding at the Madras School of Equitation to play princess Kunthavai in Ponniyin Selvan. She began by October 26, 2020. Going by the certificates that the 96 actress shared, she completed her Intro To Horse Back Riding course by October 31, she commenced her Foundation Course On Horse Back Riding by November 3 and finished it by Novermber 14. She captioned the pics, "Certified".

Karthi, who plays Vanthiyathevan in Ponniyin Selvan, learnt horse riding first for Kashmora. The actor recently shared a pic of him riding a horse, and wrote, "I have forever been fascinated by horses. While I learnt horse riding for #Kaashmora, I lived all that I dreamt of, during the filming of #PonniyinSelvan. Can’t describe the exhilaration when you connect with the horse and it breathes and pulsates with you!"

Tamannaah, who played Avantika, a warrior in the Baahubali films, learnt to ride horse riding for the role. She had then told us, "I am learning horse riding and sword fighting for the movie. I wanted to be comfortable doing the action sequences before I head to the set. The makers can get better shots and I can also do a better job.Jeetu Varma, who has trained actresses like Sonakshi Sinha, Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut, is training me. I think this is a learning for life and I am going to continue to ride even after the movie is done."

While VJ-cum-actress Pooja did not learn horse riding specifically for a film role, she has been enjoying the experience nevertheless. Sharing a few happy pics of her on a horse, earlier this May, she wrote on her social media page, “Forget all the reasons why it won’t work.. and believe the one reason it will… ♥️♥️ #justputtingitoutthere #remindersaregood �� Loved every single moment of my rides.. �� I can’t wait to go back! Until then these pictures will keep me happy. ☺️ (sic).”
