Suriya to Vijay Sethupathi: Tamil actors who turned producers!

Tamil film industry has been welcoming not only actors, but also directors and producers over the years. Given the choice, many Tamil stars have taken the opportunity to start their own production and distribution house to produce films. We can say that though not many actors are producers, a few have come forward to support the films they believe in. On March 2, director Hari started his own production house and taking a trip down the memory lane, here are a few actors who own a production house.

Vijay Sethupathi started his production house in 2014. He has produced 8 films in Tamil. The actor's company is also a distribution house. Though Vijay Sethupathi has his own banner, the actor has only produced 3 of his own films.

Suriya started his production company in 2015 and went on to produce films that had either him, his wife Jyothika or his brother Karthi starring in. He then later ventured into producing good films like 'Uriyadi 2', 'Oh My Dog' to name a few. The actor has still now produced 15 films.

Vishal started his own production and distribution house in 2013 and he has produced 10 films. The actor has produced his own films in the last decade and the actor also has his own music production company as well.

Actor Kamal started his production house in 1981 and the first film he produced was 'Raaja Paarvai'. He has produced 31 films in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. The upcoming films priduced by Kamal Haasan are 'SK 22' featuring Sivakarthikeyan and Pallavi and 'STR 48' featuring Simbu.

Dhanush started his production house in 2010 along with his ex-wife Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth. He has produced up to 19 films in Tamil and t0 mention a few - 'Vada Chennai', 'Visaranai', 'Kaaka Muttai' are the most famous. The last film produced by him was in 2018 and the actor is soon expected to make a comeback as a producer soon.
