Musician Sivamani, who is known for his devotion, is also a regular pilgrim at the famous Sabarimala temple. In addition to going through the customary rituals, of wearing maala and donning the black or blue dhtoti, he makes it a point to express his devotion to the Lord through his music. And over a period of time, his music archana, has become one of the most looked forward events for other pilgrims too. This year too, Sivamani did not disappoint his fans.

He visited the hill shrine on November 27th night. He was accompanied by keyboard artiste Prakash Ulliyeri. Carrying the irumudikettu on the head, he climbed the sacred Pathinettampady (18 steps) and took the darshan of

Lord Ayyappa

. He had also carried two drumsticks along with his irumudi to the sopanam and he did a small percussion on a steel drum kept near the hundi there.

Sivamani said that this was his 35th consecutive pilgrimage and he wanted to surrender his Padma Shri award to Lord Ayyappa. After darshan at the Ayyappa temple and Malikappuram Devi temple, he performed percussion on the drums at the Sree Dharma Sastha auditorium at Sannidhanam.
