is all set to direct Corona Kumar, a spin-off of his

Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara

, which had Vijay Sethupathi and Ashwin Kakamanu. A few months back, the motion picture and a short promo of the movie were released and fans have been waiting for updates about the movie.
Now, the lead for the movie has been finalised, and actor Santhanam will play the protagonist. The movie said to be a laughter-riot will be making an official announcement on the same, soon. Earlier, Vijay Sethupathi in a tweet released the YouTube video and wrote: “Makkal happy annachi”, a reference to one of his famous dialogues from the movie, Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara.

Produced by K Sathish, the family entertainer will highlight the changes that happened in the lives of people in the lockdown hilariously. The movie will go on floors in February. While Vijay Sethupathi is expected to play Sumaar Moonji Kumar in a cameo appearance, some members of the cast of the original will also be featured in the movie.
